Open Call "Commons": In the ninth year of their thematic residency program, they want to focus on the topic of commons. A well-known historical example of this is collectively shared grazing land - in german 'Allmende'. In times of ecological overshoot due to resource consumption, the communal use of goods is an important contribution to reducing consumption. However, there is more private ownership than ever before. What commons or collective goods exist today in industrialized, urbanized societies? Who are the people involved in structures of commons management, in the practice of ‘commoning’? How do these structures have to be designed in order to function long term?
